Easy to use Gaming Specifications

In this hub we'll be doing a review of the best gaming mice you'll come across while looking online. Specifically we'll be reviewing the 3 most popular brands of gaming mice in the market; Razer, Logitech, and Microsoft. Because a gamer uses a mouse to connect themselves to their computer and then to their favorite game it is one of the most important pieces of hardware that they can buy.

A Cheap Gaming Mouse Affects Your Gaming Performance and Experience

I recently wrote a hub on how to build a gaming PC under $1,000, but the truth is if you have a mouse that has a low dpi, or just doesn't have the same functionality that other gamer's mice have then it may not matter how great your computer is. A good gaming mouse fits your preferences like a good baseball glove. Some prefer a small lightweight or a USB mouse, while others prefer a large, or heavy mouse perhaps with super sensitivity.

Why You Should Purchase a Gaming Mouse on Amazon

Amazon not only has every mouse you could dream of, it also has thousands of wholesalers and companies that sell new products at a discount or even refurbished products in order to bring you the lowest prices period. You can expect to pay anywhere from 20-50% more on a mouse in a retail store or somewhere else! This combined with super saver shipping (in many instances) makes Amazon an ideal place to purchase a gaming mouse.

Razer Deathadder

Despite Price differential, the Razer Deathadder is still the best rated of all of Razer's Mice. Here's what one customer had to say: "The arc of the mouse is by far the most comfortable I've ever used, in that it actually follows the curve of one's hand how it instinctively would grab a mouse. It is also a right handed mouse, sorry southpaws, which adds to the comfort and control of the mouse. I can't say I know what the mouse grip is made out of, but it is completely slip resistant and oil resistant/absorbent. The sides of the mouse are a hard plastic and between the teflon feet and light weight of the mouse there is almost no resistance to movement."

Gamers like the Deathadder because it's made for right handed gamers (they have a left-handed version as well). Gamers who use a properly designed mouse can go for longer hours and not tire as easily. It also comes with the 3500dpi Razer Precision 3.5G infrared sensor which per Razer "translates your every movement into frags with pinpoint accuracy."

Razer Naga MMOG Laser Gaming Mouse

The most popular Razer Gaming Mouse is the Razer Naga MMOG Laser Gaming Mouse. This ultimate MMO mouse comes with a 5600dpi Razer Precision 3.5G Laser Sensor and 17 MMO-optimized buttons for the ultimate gaming experience.

What customers are saying on Amazon:

"As an avid WoW player I'm always on a quest for mice with more buttons. MOAR! Most mice are limited to 5 mappable buttons that my fingers can actually reach. Some do cram more buttons on the mouse but place them in awkward locations...

Enter the Razer Naga. I thought this was a Photoshop joke when I first saw the picture. But they really have put a cell phone style keypad on the thumb side for a total of 17 buttons...

The mouse feels very high quality. It's very comfortable with good tactile feel. The scroll wheel is the nicest I've ever used. It's clear that Razer puts a lot of effort into creating a functional design, not just something that looks good in the box."

Razer Mamba Wireless Mouse

The Razer Mamba Wireless Gaming Laser Mouse stands out as Razer's best wireless gaming mouse.

Response Time of a the Razer Mamba

If you've never owned a wireless gaming mouse, then you may be concerned about its response time, however; you shouldn't be. The Razer Mamba's response time is the best in the market in terms of response time for USB or cordless mice. Razer said that "Its ability to be polled at an interval of 1ms maximizes the frequency at which data is sent to the PC. This also means your command gets executed first even if you and your opponent react at the same time."

Dual Mode Wireless/Wired Functionality

Out of battery life? No problem, switch it to USB and power it up at the same time!

Razer Synapse™ Onboard Memory

With Razer's New Onboard memory you can store your profiles and macro strings on your mouse without software. This is perfect for taking your custom mouse systems with you to a LAN party or tournament.

What's in the box?

Razer Mamba Gaming Mouse, Charging Dock, Rechargeable Lithium-ion Polymer Battery, Battery Door, USB Cable, Certificate of Authenticity, and Quick Start GuideMaster Guide.

What are people saying on Amazon?

"This is the mouse I have been waiting for. One that has the body of a Razer DeathAdder, and the high customizable DPI of the Razer Lachesis. "

Other Featured Razer Mice: Razer Orochi, Abyssus, Lachesis, and Imperator.

Logitech MX 518 High Performance Optical Gaming Mouse (Metal)
THE bestselling gaming mouse on Amazon. While this is probably because of it's low price, it still receives 4.5/5 stars. Up to 2000 DPI.
Amazon Price: $81.69
List Price: $49.99

Logitech MX518

Most affordable, bestselling gaming Mouse on Amazon

If you are on a budget, then you can't beat the Logitech MX518 gaming mouse, which right now is on sale for under $30. The Logitech MX 518 set the standard in terms of gaming mice. Other's have tried to copy it, and have succeeded, but those competitors offer similar mice for a higher price.

From the manufacturer:

"The Logitech MX 518 optical gaming mouse gives gamers a precision advantage. Its 1800 dpi optical engine delivers pinpoint accuracy for precise targeting and high-speed handling. A sculpted comfort grip helps reduce strain, and slick polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) feet glide smoothly across almost any surface, with no skips. This durable fit and finish allows for longer, harder play. In-game sensitivity switching lets you easily control cursor speed and responsiveness without ever having to interrupt your game. Advanced software allows you to easily customize your mouse to every game you play, and eight programmable buttons provide added control and efficiency."

Logitech Gaming Mice are consistently the best rated:

Because this hub is getting rather lengthy, I'm going to shorten my description of Logitech's gaming mice, but don't skip over them. I've included some comments below on some of my favorite Logitech mice.

Logitech consistently gets the best customer feedback on their gaming mice on Amazon. Almost ALL of their mice get 4.5/5 stars on Amazon, while Razer's mice lag closely behind.

Logitech G7 Laser Cordless Mouse
The G7 is similar to the Razer Naga in terms of response time and dual usage (cordless or USB), it also comes with a 3 year warranty which we like.

2000 dpi laser engine sends 1000 USB reports per second, it also includes an adjustable weight cartridge customizable to how you like it.

Microsoft SideWinder Series

While Microsoft makes a highly rated gaming mouse, I feel that Logitech and Razer deliver slightly higher results; however, some prefer the Microsoft Sidewinder series because of their feel, and programming options.

Another advantage to the Microsoft Sidewinder Gaming Mouse is that you can get some of the similar features of the Razer Naga and Logitech G7 for a slightly lower price.

Microsoft SideWinder Gaming Mouse
With the sidewinder, you can easily switch between 250-4000 DPI. Up to 30 Hours of gaming on a charge using wireless play. 7 Programmable Buttons - Customize 5 programmable main buttons, plus left/right tilt, to your preference.
Amazon Price: $79.99
Microsoft SideWinder X5 Mouse
Amazon Price: $39.99
List Price: $59.99
Microsoft SideWinder X3 Mouse
Amazon Price: $15.00
List Price: $39.99

In the end the best gaming mouse for you all comes down to preference. Some gamers like a large mouse that covers their entire hand and has a lot of weight to it. Others prefer a small mouse that is easy to move around.
